Position Summary
Cedelis is seeking a Senior Zero Trust Technical Expert to provide authoritative technical leadership for the adoption, design, and implementation of Zero Trust principles across enterprise IT environments. The senior expert will advise on strategy, architecture, and execution of Zero Trust capabilities while ensuring alignment with federal cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical authority for Zero Trust strategy and implementation, contributing to secure transformation initiatives.
- Advise leadership on roadmap development, planning, and execution of Zero Trust adoption across multi-cloud, hybrid, and mission-critical environments.
- Conduct enterprise-level assessments of identity, network, endpoint, application, and data layers to identify architectural gaps and recommend remediation.
- Develop and refine Zero Trust reference architectures, design patterns, and integration approaches for complex IT environments.
- Provide expert guidance on the integration of advanced security technologies, including but not limited to identity and access management, micro‑segmentation, continuous monitoring, and encryption.
- Support governance, risk, and compliance by ensuring Zero Trust initiatives align with federal cybersecurity standards such as NIST SP 800‑207 and associated frameworks.
- Prepare high‑level technical briefings, executive summaries, and policy documents for internal and stakeholder use.
- Collaborate with program management, engineering teams, and mission stakeholders to ensure coherent integration of Zero Trust capabilities into existing operational ecosystems.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years focused on Zero Trust architecture, enterprise security design, or systems integration.
- Demonstrated success in designing, deploying, and maturing Zero Trust capabilities within large‑scale environments.
- Proficient in cloud security, identity and access management, network segmentation, endpoint protections, and hybrid IT operations.
- Experience applying NIST RMF (including SP 800‑37 and SP 800‑53) and Zero Trust frameworks such as NIST SP 800‑207.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and develop strategic recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience delivering technical briefings to senior leadership.
Education
- Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted.
Security Clearance
- Active Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for SCI or equivalent is required.
- Must be able to successfully complete any additional eligibility requirements, including counterintelligence polygraph if required.
Certifications
- Must meet applicable DoD 8570 / 8140 certification requirements at IAT Level III or higher.
- Industry certifications in cybersecurity, cloud security, or identity and access management (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, Zero Trust vendor certifications) are highly desirable.
