Responsibilities
  • In conjunction with the Director of Sales & Marketing create, activate, monitor and measure annual integrated marketing plans.
  • Ensure marketing plans support the efforts of sales, revenue and events teams.
  • Lead budgeting, activation and assessment of programs to maximize investment.
  • Coordinate communications between internal stakeholders and external vendor partnerships to meet marketing targets and deadlines.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives for hotel outlets such as bar, restaurant, meeting space, etc.
  • Ensure all marketing materials and assets (invitations, websites, sales collateral, etc.) comply with Hyatt brand standards.
  • Provide input in creative direction, concept development, copy and design for visual materials including promotions, web projects, PowerPoint presentations, invitations, printed collateral and internal communications using design software such as Canva & Adobe Photoshop.
  • Develop and manage production with the Hyatt Brand Manager and approved local vendors for all in-house collateral.
  • Assist in organizing and planning property‑specific marketing events.
  • Develop local partnerships to drive awareness, recommendations and traffic to outlets and enhance integrated plans.
  • Work closely with the Regional Field Marketing Manager on digital ad investments, monthly reviews of results, recommendations and website updates.
  • Monitor, coordinate and respond to reputation management channels such as Trip Advisor and Yelp to generate positive exposure.
  • Coordinate action plans for guest engagement via Trip Advisor.
  • Coordinate initiatives including hotel photo shoots and catalogue press mentions.
  • Review and approve all hotel press releases with the General Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Serve as the primary hotel contact for all public relations initiatives.
  • Foster relationships with media at local and national levels.
  • Engage with media representatives and Visit Fairfax as necessary.
  • Coordinate proactive and reactive onsite influencer and press stays/visits.
  • Develop and regularly update the hotel press kit, photography and b‑roll.
  • Execute recommended Hyatt corporate PR and marketing initiatives at the property level.
  • Develop, coordinate, execute and maintain a social media plan including Facebook, X and Instagram.
  • Coordinate planning, social media investments and reporting with the Director of Marketing.
  • Coordinate quarterly meetings to review performance, provide guidance to maximize future programs and develop new ideas.
  • Monitor social media activity and identity, maintaining a content calendar that supports sales and revenue initiatives and drives followers and engagement.
  • Provide ongoing marketing intelligence and guidance to the Leadership Committee.
  • Attend and engage in weekly hotel strategy meetings and monthly campus marketing meetings hosted by our ownership group.
  • Attend and present at quarterly Sales, Events and Marketing meetings, and host the hotel’s quarterly marketing and communications meetings.
  • Assist Director of Sales & Marketing with the annual marketing budget and business plan strategies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in an integrated marketing role (digital, events/PR, marketing/communications) within the hotel industry.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced marketing environment.
  • Strong media knowledge across all platforms (digital, social, OTT and broadcast).
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel, InDesign or Canva.
  • Strong written and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Well‑connected with an ability to seek and build new relationships to support business objectives.
