Overview
Dean | Fluor is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician I (CFT
-GMT) responsible for maintaining the condition and functionality of a 24/7/365 critical government facility.
Responsibilities
The CFT performs diversified duties including troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance of facility equipment across trades such as HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and low voltage electrical, as well as fuel systems. Routine inspections are conducted to prevent facility and equipment breakdowns.
- Conducts routine rounds monitoring equipment and recording parameters.
- Reports faults and deficiencies, responds to emergencies, and performs protective tasks.
- Performs minor plumbing repairs and preventative maintenance on support equipment.
- Reconfigures and installs modular office components.
- Inspects structures for malfunctions and repairs, providing notes and recommendations.
- Records data in a computerized maintenance system accurately.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Manages fuel systems on-site.
- Handles mail and freight shipping per FBI standards, including screening and delivery.
- Maintains inventory of shipping supplies.
- Operates forklifts and handles hazardous materials following safety training.
Qualifications
- Availability 24/7/365, on-call during winter; exception for personal time off.
- High School diploma or GED with at least four years of maintenance experience.
- Ability to read work orders, manuals, and safety documents.
- Proficiency with computerized maintenance and timekeeping systems.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and lift over six feet.
- Must carry a two-way radio and have reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Compliance with licensing, certification, and company policies.
- Excellent communication skills in English, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift at least 60 lbs, walk up to 3 miles daily, and stand for long periods.
Desire
- Welding, soldering large copper pipes, diesel engine mechanic, or water treatment experience is preferred.
This position is considered sensitive and may require extensive background screening to meet government contract requirements. Applicants may need to meet specific background eligibility criteria.
Abilities
- Lift at least 100 lbs at once and 60 lbs for extended periods.
- Relocate a 12-foot ladder unaided.
- Work at heights up to 60 feet, climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, lifts, and ladders.
- Perform physical activities including walking, climbing, lifting, and reaching.
- Good vision (corrected if needed), color vision, hearing, and communication skills in English.
- Recognize potential issues without solving them, and apply general problem-solving skills.
- See details at close range and interpret information effectively.
