Senior Software Engineer, Android (Principal Associate)

At Capital One, you'll work with a cross‑functional, agile team to develop engaging, high‑performing Android experiences that solve real customer problems. Our Android engineers drive product strategy, build world‑class UI and contribute to the broader mobile platform.

• Develop Android client code that delivers on Product Strategy while following engineering best practices, design guidelines and principles.
• Partner with UX/UI, Quality Engineers, Product Owners and Analysts to deliver high‑performing, customer‑facing experiences that are engaging and purposeful.
• Participate in all team agile ceremonies, contributing to on‑time delivery of commitments and highest quality.
• Advocate for the mobile platform through internal and external developer communities.
• Continuously learn new technologies related to mobile development (Kotlin, 3rd‑party libraries, etc.).
• Influence group discussions and incorporate feedback from the broader team.
• Mentor junior to mid‑level team members.
• Engage with developers outside the local sprint team across disciplines (Android, iOS, APIs, Web, etc.).
• Own and lead delivery of major components and platform needs with Senior Engineers and Architects.
• Share best practices and improve processes within and across sprint teams.
• Identify technical obstacles early and collaborate with the team to find creative solutions.
• Review pull requests, ensuring adherence to Kotlin and other language idioms.

• Bachelor's Degree.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply).
• At least 2 years of experience building Android applications.
• At least 2 years of experience with Kotlin.

• 3+ years of experience building Android applications.
• 3+ years of experience with Kotlin.
• 1+ years of experience in open source frameworks.
• 1+ years of experience with Agile practices.
