Lead Software Engineer; Java​/Angular

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Java/Angular) with strong full-stack development expertise and technical leadership experience to support the design, development, integration, testing, and modernization of enterprise applications for a mission-critical Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) federal healthcare program.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on with Angular/Type Script, Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs
, while providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, mentoring developers, and ensuring adherence to software engineering best practices. Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve coding productivity, testing, debugging, and code quality is highly desirable.

• Lead the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise applications using Angular/Type Script and Java/Spring Boot.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to software engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
• Design and develop scalable backend services, microservices, REST APIs, and frontend application components.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, design patterns, code quality practices, and secure development guidelines.
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and guide root-cause analysis and resolution.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Git Hub Copilot, Gemini Code Assist, Amazon Q Developer, ChatGPT, Claude, or comparable tools for code generation, refactoring, debugging, testing, and documentation.
• Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, maintainability, and compliance with project standards.
• Guide the development and execution of unit and integration tests using JUnit 5 and appropriate frontend testing frameworks.
• Support API integrations, database development, and enterprise data access using Spring Cloud/Open Feign, JPA/Hibernate, SQL, and Teradata.
• Collaborate with architects, QA, Dev Sec Ops , business analysts, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Support cloud-native application development and deployments using AWS, Docker, and established Dev Sec Ops  practices.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, technical discussions, and delivery planning.
• Mentor team members, promote knowledge sharing, and identify opportunities to improve development efficiency and software quality.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience
