Learning Mentor Horam, East Sussex
Pay: £13.70 £ 15.00 per hour
Hours: Term-time, 8:30am 3:30pm (flexible hours may be considered)
Contract: Permanent / Fixed-term (depending on school needs)

Are you passionate about supporting children to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally? A primary school in Horam is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to provide vital pastoral and educational support to pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

• Provide one-to-one or small group mentoring to pupils who need additional support

• Help pupils develop social, emotional, and behavioural skills

• Support pupils with learning challenges or special educational needs

• Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to coordinate support

• Monitor and report on pupils progress

• Promote positive behaviour and confidence in the classroom

• Assist with interventions and school projects aimed at improving student wellbeing

• Experience working with children in an educational or mentoring setting

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Empathy, patience, and the ability to motivate young people

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Basic knowledge of safeguarding procedures

• A relevant qualification in mentoring, education, or childcare is desirable but not essential
