We are seeking a technically minded Internal Sales Engineer to join a busy and customer-focused sales team within the industrial instrumentation and controls sector. This office-based role plays a key part in supporting field sales activity, managing customer enquiries, and developing new and existing business opportunities.
You will be responsible for handling technical enquiries, preparing quotations and bid documents, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and external partners. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical knowledge with commercial interaction in a fast-paced sales environment.
About the role
* As an Internal Sales Engineer, you will act as a key point of contact for customers and field sales engineers, managing enquiries from initial contact through to quotation and follow-up.
* You will qualify opportunities, provide technical guidance, and support the wider sales process by preparing accurate documentation and coordinating with internal departments.
* The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to engage confidently in technical discussions. Your contribution will directly support business growth and customer satisfaction.
What we’re looking for
* We’re looking for a technically competent individual with an engineering or instrumentation background who is comfortable working in a sales-support or internal sales environment.
* You’ll have the ability to interpret technical requirements, explain solutions clearly, and manage multiple enquiries simultaneously.
* You should be organised, proactive, and confident working both independently and as part of a team.
* Experience with CRM systems, quotation preparation, and a good understanding of the sales process are important, along with strong IT skills and a professional, customer-focused approach
