A well‑established and growing accountancy firm with a strong track record of organic growth is seeking to expand its team. With ambitious plans to acquire additional firms in the North, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business entering a new phase of development.
The RoleWe are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Accountant who has 7‑10 years of experience to support the continued growth of the practice. This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone with a strong practice background who can hit the ground running and take ownership of a varied client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of industries
- Preparing statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax returns
- Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing guidance
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Liaising directly with clients, providing advice and maintaining strong relationships
- Assisting with onboarding new clients and integrating acquisitions
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
- ACA / ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
- Proven experience working within an accountancy practice environment is essential
- Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT, and tax compliance
- Proficiency in cloud‑based accounting software, including Xero, Quick Books, Sage, and Free Agent
- Full UK Vehicle License
- Excellent client‑facing and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively
- Experience reviewing junior staff work and providing constructive feedback
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
