Part-Time Bookkeeper
Are you an experienced Bookkeeper seeking a flexible role that allows you to work independently while supporting the management of a historic property? If you are dependable, highly organised, and comfortable managing a range of financial and administrative tasks, this opportunity offers you the chance to work within a stunning environment with adaptable hours.
Part-Time Bookkeeper Responsibilities
This position will involve, but will not be limited to:
Monitoring bank accounts, credit card payments, and statements to ensure accurate cash flow management.
Reviewing purchase invoices and raising sales invoices to support smooth financial operations.
Setting up and maintaining vendor trade accounts, executing weekly and ad hoc payments.
Managing payroll, maintaining staff pension schemes, and ensuring HR records are accurate and current.
Preparing quarterly VAT returns and developing annual budgets.
Liaising with external accountants regarding year-end and financial reporting.
Reviewing insurance policies, utilities, and overseeing health and safety inspections such as fire safety and electrical maintenance.
Maintaining finance spreadsheets and working with finance software, ideally on Xero.
Part-Time Bookkeeper Rewards
Flexible weekly hours, fluctuating between 8 and 16 hours, with some work remote.

Part-Time Bookkeeper Experience Essentials
Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, ideally with Xero or similar finance software.
Experience in cash management, VAT submissions, payroll, and pension schemes.
Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, and liaising with external accountants.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and reliability.
Knowledge of utilities, health and safety inspections, and basic property operations.
Location
Based in Oxfordshire and accessible by car, with parking available. The role involves visiting the residence once a week to collect post, check-in with household staff, and handle administrative tasks, with most work manageable remotely.
