Payroll administrator

About the Role

As a Payroll Administrator, you’ll take ownership of processing for stores and head office teams. You’ll also get hands‑on exposure to a variety of duties – from onboarding and employee record management to supporting day‑to‑day HR queries. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to handle end to end payroll in the UK.

• End-to-end payroll administration
• Processing starters, leavers and employee changes
• Managing statutory payments including SSP, SMP and SPP
• Payroll validation and reconciliation activities
• Processing payroll amendments and adjustments
• Responding to payroll queries
• Ensuring compliance with current UK payroll legislation
• Maintaining accurate payroll records
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and payroll projects
• Working across multiple payroll cycles and deadlines

• 3-5 years’ experience within a payroll position
• Proven end-to-end payroll administration experience
• Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation
• Experience processing high volumes of payroll transactions
• Payroll reconciliation and validation experience
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Desirable
• Experience working within a payroll bureau or outsourced payroll environment
• SAP payroll or SAP Key Ops experience
• CIPP qualification or payroll‑related certification
