Knight Your new company A leading international insurance organisation is seeking a qualified accountant to join its Accounting & Regulatory Policy team in a newly created Technical & Regulatory Accountant position.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong finance professional looking to develop expertise across accounting policy, regulatory reporting, governance, and business-critical finance projects within a complex and evolving environment.

Your new role Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in maintaining and embedding accounting policies, supporting regulatory reporting requirements, and providing technical accounting insight across the business. You will contribute to the assessment of new accounting standards and regulatory developments, helping to ensure compliance and consistency across the organisation. Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the development and maintenance of accounting and regulatory policy documentation.

Researching and assessing the impact of new accounting standards and regulatory changes.

Preparing technical accounting papers and analysing complex accounting judgements.

Supporting acquisition accounting activities and related reporting.

Producing legal entity reporting and board-level reporting packs.

Assisting with regulatory and statistical returns.

Supporting governance, controls and continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.

Working with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to provide technical guidance and insight. What you'll need to succeed You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience and a strong technical accounting foundation. Experience gained in financial services, insurance, banking, professional services or a complex corporate environment will be advantageous.

You will also demonstrate:

Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS.Experience preparing technical accounting papers, policies or guidance documentation.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.

Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

A proactive and detail-oriented approach with a focus on continuous improvement.

The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
