About The Contractor:

They are a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor with a strong presence across the UK, delivering high-profile projects across commercial, healthcare, education, and infrastructure sectors. With a reputation for quality, innovation, and operational excellence, they continue to secure major schemes across the West Midlands. Due to ongoing growth, they are now seeking an experienced Document Controller to join their project team.

Document Controller Overview:

As a Document Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the project team by managing and maintaining all project documentation. You will ensure that drawings, technical submissions, and contractual documents are accurately controlled, distributed, and stored in line with company and client procedures. Your organisation and attention to detail will be essential to the smooth delivery of the project.

Document Controller Responsibilities:

  • Managing and maintaining the project document control system
  • Ensuring all drawings and documentation are correctly logged, tracked, and distributed
  • Controlling revisions and ensuring teams are working from the latest information
  • Liaising with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams regarding documentation
  • Supporting the site and commercial teams with administrative document requirements
  • Maintaining accurate records in line with company and client protocols
  • Assisting with quality assurance documentation and handover packs
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and project-specific requirements

Document Controller Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Document Controller within the construction industry (essential)
  • Experience working for a Main Contractor, ideally Tier 1
  • Proficiency in document management systems (e.g. Viewpoint, Asite, Aconex or similar)
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills and ability to work within a fast-paced project environment
  • Competent in Microsoft Office packages
