ResponsibilitiesA great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Secretary to join a busy Private Client team based in Lyme Regis. This role will involve providing comprehensive secretarial support to fee earners, helping them operate efficiently while delivering a high standard of client care. You will be a key point of contact for clients and third parties, assisting with communications and helping to manage expectations on timescales and progress.
Duties will include preparing correspondence and legal documents through digital dictation, managing files and filing systems, handling telephone enquiries, arranging meetings and maintaining diaries. You will also support with general administrative tasks and provide cover for colleagues where required.
The role requires a proactive and organised individual who can work using their own initiative while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner are essential, as is the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Previous secretarial experience is essential, and legal secretarial experience within private client work would be advantageous but is not required.
Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, are necessary.
The role is primarily office‑based in Lyme Regis, with occasional travel to other nearby offices if needed. Full‑time hours are preferred, although part‑time applications will be considered for the right candidate.
