Role and Purpose

To provide efficient, accurate and responsive professional practice customer–focused administration support to Children and Families Services, ensuring compliance with procedures and practices to support the delivery of efficient front‑line services.

Responsibilities
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.
  • Ensure excellent customer service that meets customer promises and service standards of Adults, Children and Families, by communicating with members of the public, the call centre and internal and external agencies.
  • Undertake a range of administration duties involving highly sensitive and confidential information, requiring initiative.
  • Maintain specific databases, inputting and extracting data, and keep accurate, up‑to‑date records on appropriate systems; create, collate and distribute requests for services to enable frontline service delivery.
  • Process requests for goods and services following procurement procedures and verify deliveries.
  • Manage confidential filing systems, including sensitive personal information, updating, tracking, retrieval and archiving in accordance with statutory and Information Governance procedures.
  • Perform other duties reasonably corresponding to the general character of the post and commensurate with its level of responsibility.
  • Work within clearly defined guidelines with support and supervision at all times.
  • Adhere to health and safety responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated legislation, and the Council’s Corporate H&S policy.
  • Qualifications

    NVQ level 2, or equivalent qualification, and experience of working in a busy demanding office environment. Good interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work within GDPR regulations. The role can be emotionally demanding; resilience and emotional regulation are required.
