Church Administrator – St Luke's Church, Southsea
Part-Time | 12 Hours per Week
£13.00 per hour

Join Our Team!St Luke's Church is seeking a friendly, organised, and proactive Church Administrator to support the life and ministry of our vibrant parish community.
This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of church life, providing essential administrative support, coordinating communications, and helping to ensure the smooth running of parish activities. You will often be the first point of contact for visitors, families, and members of the congregation, so a warm and welcoming approach is essential.
About the RoleAs Church Administrator, you will:
- Manage general parish administration and correspondence.
- Maintain church records, databases, and the Electoral Roll.
- Prepare and distribute church communications, including newsletters and service information.
- Update the church website, social media channels, and online listings.
- Support the organisation of baptisms, weddings, funerals, and other occasional offices.
- Prepare orders of service, seasonal materials, and publicity resources.
- Assist with church meetings, events, fundraising activities, and community engagement.
- Coordinate office supplies and administrative systems.
- Support safeguarding administration and safer recruitment processes.
- Ensure records and personal information are handled in accordance with GDPR requirements.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Communicates clearly and professionally, both in writing and in person.
- Is confident working independently and managing competing priorities.
- Has strong attention to detail and maintains accurate records.
- Is approachable, welcoming, and able to interact sensitively with a wide range of people.
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Has good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Canva, and website editing platforms.
- Is sympathetic to the aims, mission, and values of the Church of England and able to work within the Christian ethos of the parish.
- A supportive and friendly church environment.
- A varied and meaningful role that contributes directly to parish life and ministry.

- Flexible working arrangements, with days and hours to be agreed.
St Luke's Church is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. The successful applicant will be required to complete Church of England safeguarding training and may be subject to a DBS check and safer recruitment procedures.
