Outpatients Receptionist St Gemma's Hospice

St Gemma’s Hospice is seeking to appoint a Receptionist to join our team, working Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4pm.
Based within Outpatients Reception, the role extends far beyond traditional reception duties. The position provides administrative, operational and patient-facing support across Outpatients, Community Services, Medical Outpatient Clinics, Therapy Services, Social Work, Family Support and Volunteer services.
This is a varied, exciting role providing high quality reception and administrative within our Outpatients Unit. You will be greeting patients and visitors, answering the phone and completing administrative tasks, such as managing Outpatient clinic rotas and capacity, maintaining Therapy Team ledgers and clinician availability, typing, processing and uploading clinical correspondence, coordinating volunteer driver transport for patients attending appointment and groups, managing Clinical Nurse Specialist rotas and whereabouts information, and updating urgent appointment changes and operational issues.
The role is ideal for a self-starter with administrative experience and who is keen to become involved in the work of the Hospice.
The successful candidate will be:
- highly organised and efficient, with keen attention to detail;
- proficient in using Systm One;
- a team player with excellent interpersonal skills;
- flexible and used to adapting to changing priorities;
- able to multi-task while managing frequent interruptions;
- experienced in communicating with a variety of people over the telephone and in person; and
- confident in using IT and learning new systems.
