Vehicle Technician

Location: Brighton, East Sussex

Salary: £34,000 – £60,000 OTE

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician to join our busy workshop in Brighton. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a range of vehicles to the highest standards while delivering excellent customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on customer vehicles.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
  • Complete repairs efficiently and accurately in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform vehicle inspections and identify additional work required.
  • Conduct vehicle health checks and prepare reports.
  • Ensure all work is completed to health and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out and parts used.
  • Support colleagues and contribute to a productive workshop environment.
Essential Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, or Automotive Technician.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Desirable Requirements
  • MOT Tester licence.
  • Experience with manufacturer diagnostic systems.
  • Hybrid and electric vehicle qualifications.
  • Main dealership experience.
