We are looking for a Business Development Manager to take full ownership of new business generation and guide opportunities from first contact through to signed agreement.
You will be responsible for identifying and developing new sources of business, managing the full sales process, and working closely with the founder on strategy, proposals, and deal structure.
You will also be working closely with the head of marketing to develop marketing assets to assist with your sales activity.
While the primary focus is new business, you will also support the growth of existing client accounts through relationship management and identifying upsell opportunities.
This is a role for someone who enjoys autonomy, variety, and real influence on company growth.
Key Responsibilities New Business Development (Primary Focus)- Identify, research, and proactively pursue new business opportunities
- Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline across inbound and outbound channels
- Develop relationships with decision-makers (Founders, MDs, Heads of Digital/Marketing/Product)
- Qualify leads and run discovery calls with support from the founder where required
- Coordinate and contribute to proposals, pitches, and pricing discussions
- Own the sales process from initial contact through to contract signing
- Track and report on pipeline activity, forecasts, and conversion metrics
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients
- Identify opportunities for additional work (retainers, new features, new platforms)
- Support renewals, extensions, and repeat project engagements including contracts
- Act as a commercial point of contact alongside delivery teams
- Work closely with the founder and head of marketing to refine positioning, service offerings, and target sectors
- Provide feedback on market trends, competitor activity, and client needs
- Help shape sales materials, case studies, and go-to-market messaging
- At least 3 years’ experience in a commercial role (Business Development, Sales, Account Management or similar)
- Experience selling digital services (websites, apps, software, marketing, or agency services)
- Comfortable managing the full sales lifecycle
- Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable working in a small, growing business
- Organised, structured, and commercially astute
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g. )
- Understanding of digital delivery processes (design, development, Agile)
- Experience working directly with founders or senior leadership
