A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a Brighton-based main contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across Brighton, Hove, and the wider Sussex region.
The business is well established locally, with over 30 years experience delivering refurbishment, new build, and complex structural alteration schemes across residential, commercial, and education sectors.
It is recognised for delivering high-quality, detail-driven projects in both live environments and specialist construction settings, with a strong reputation for reliability, craftsmanship, and long-term client relationships.
Responsibilities- Supporting cost management, valuations, and variation accounts.
- Assisting with subcontract procurement and commercial administration.
- Managing subcontractor payments and applications.
- Supporting CVRs, forecasting, and reporting.
- Working closely with site teams and project managers.
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
This Brighton-based main contractor delivers projects across the local region, including residential refurbishments, home extensions, structural alterations, and commercial schemes.
Typical projects include high-end residential works, education refurbishments, and bespoke construction projects requiring a high level of detail and coordination.

Requirements & RewardsTo be successful in this role, you should have:
- About 2 years experience in Quantity Surveying within a main contractor.
- Exposure to refurbishment, residential, or general construction projects.
- Strong numerical and communication skills.
- Good understanding of commercial processes and subcontract management.
- Relevant construction or QS qualification (preferred).
