Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Site Surveyor to join a major highways infrastructure project. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale earthworks package as part of a long-term highways improvement programme.
The works include bulk earthworks, cut and fill operations, drainage installation, road construction, and associated heavy civil engineering activities.
Site Surveyor Responsibilities:
* Carry out setting out and surveying activities across earthworks, drainage, and highways construction works.
* Establish and maintain survey control networks and site control points.
* Produce accurate survey data, reports, and as-built records.
* Support the site engineering team with setting out and dimensional control requirements.
* Conduct topographical surveys and volume calculations for earthworks operations.
* Ensure survey data is processed and managed accurately using relevant software packages.
* Liaise with site management, engineers, and subcontractors to support efficient project delivery.
* Monitor and verify works are completed in accordance with design specifications and project tolerances.
* Maintain survey equipment and ensure all calibrations are current.
* Assist with quality assurance documentation and technical reporting.
Site Surveyor Requirements:
* Proven experience working as a Site Surveyor on highways, earthworks, or heavy civil engineering projects.
* Strong background in bulk earthworks, cut and fill operations, and infrastructure construction.
* Proficient in the use of Leica, Trimble, or similar surveying equipment.
* Experience using survey software such as AutoCAD, N4CE.
* Valid CSCS Card required.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
* Full UK driving licence preferred.
