Duration: Long-Term Contract
Hours: Full Time (Site & Office Based)

Rate: £32.50 per hour – PAYE – inc hol pay

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Advisor to join a major new-build infrastructure project based at the Isle of Grain. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a high-performing project team delivering critical UK infrastructure works.

The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with current health, safety and environmental legislation while supporting operational teams to achieve the highest standards across all phases of the project.

This position will involve a combination of site-based inspections and office-based administration, working closely with Project Management, Supervisors, Subcontractors and the wider HSE team.

• Promote a proactive safety culture across all site operations.
• Monitor compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, company procedures and client requirements.
• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and behavioural safety observations.
• Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS) and Safe Systems of Work.
• Support the investigation of incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, ensuring effective root cause analysis and close-out of actions.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and site inductions.
• Provide health and safety advice to site management, supervisors and the workforce.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of project HSE documentation.
• Maintain accurate records including inspections, audits, incident reports and training records.
• Attend project meetings and contribute to HSE planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with client representatives and regulatory bodies where required.
• Support environmental compliance, waste management and sustainability initiatives across the project.

• NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• Previous experience as an HSE Advisor on major infrastructure, industrial or construction projects.
• Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation including the Health & Safety at Work Act and CDM Regulations.
• Experience conducting site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of a project team.
• Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work effectively in both site and office environments.

• Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH or GradIOSH).
• CSCS Card.
• First Aid at Work qualification.
• Environmental awareness or IEMA qualification.
• Experience working on large civil engineering, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 management systems.
• Temporary Works, Working at Height or Confined Space awareness.
