The Company

Our client is an established commercial fit-out and refurbishment contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. They provide a complete design and build service, specialising in workplace fit-outs, refurbishments and interior construction projects for a diverse range of commercial clients.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an ambitious Assistant Project Manager to join their delivery team and support the successful delivery of a variety of exciting projects.

The Role

Working alongside experienced Project Managers and senior leadership, you'll support the delivery of commercial fit-out, refurbishment and design & build projects from pre-construction through to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the day-to-day management of multiple commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects.
  • Support the planning, programming and coordination of projects from pre-start through to completion.
  • Attend client, design, subcontractor and site meetings, ensuring actions are followed through.
  • Work closely with design, commercial, procurement and site teams to keep projects on programme.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying potential risks and helping implement solutions.
  • Assist in managing subcontractors, suppliers and specialist trades.
  • Support procurement, material scheduling and project logistics.
  • Help manage project documentation including RFIs, technical submissions and drawing registers.
  • Carry out regular site visits to monitor quality, progress and Health & Safety compliance.
  • Support cost control, change management and project reporting alongside the commercial team.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain.
About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and keen to build a long-term career within commercial fit-out and refurbishment.

Ideally you'll have:

  • Experience with in commercial fit-out, refurbishment or construction.
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Site Manager, Design Coordinator or similar.
  • A good understanding of construction processes and project delivery.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • A full UK Driving Licence.
