3-month initial contract (expected to run for 12 months)   Rate: £60 - £95 P/H DOE - Inside IR35    We're working with a well-established London Local Authority looking to strengthen its Building Control team with experienced Registered Building Inspectors, from Class 2A right through to Class 3.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive team delivering a varied workload across domestic, commercial and higher-risk buildings while playing a key role in maintaining high standards of building safety.

The Role    You'll be responsible for delivering a full Building Control service, including:
Plan checking and assessing Building Regulations applications.
Carrying out site inspections across a varied portfolio of projects.
Managing your own caseload while ensuring compliance with current Building Regulations and legislation.
Providing technical advice to applicants, developers, architects and other stakeholders.
Assisting with complex applications and higher-risk building work where appropriate.
Supporting enforcement activity and dangerous structures work when required.
Contributing to the successful delivery of the Building Safety Regulator's requirements and performance targets.
Mentoring and supporting junior members of the Building Control team where appropriate.
About You    To be considered, you'll have:
Registration with the Building Safety Regulator at Class 2A or above (applications welcomed from Class 2A through to Class
3).
Previous Local Authority Building Control experience.
A strong working knowledge of Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act.
The ability to interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications.
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with internal teams, developers and external stakeholders.
Membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CABE, CIOB or ABE is desirable.
