Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to play a key role in delivering some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects?

Conrad Consulting is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading independent construction consultancy seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing infrastructure team.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll provide commercial expertise across a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure projects.

Typical schemes include:

  • High-voltage transmission and utilities infrastructure
  • New-build and upgraded substations
  • Network reinforcement and capacity expansion projects
  • Civil engineering, cable installation and associated infrastructure works

Working closely with clients, Tier 1 contractors and multidisciplinary project teams, you'll be responsible for delivering robust commercial management throughout the project lifecycle under NEC contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing commercial and cost management activities across major infrastructure projects.
  • Administering NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including compensation events, early warnings and change management.
  • Preparing cost plans, budgets, valuations, forecasts and commercial reports.
  • Monitoring project costs, cash flow and financial performance against programme budgets.
  • Supporting value engineering and risk management initiatives.
  • Producing accurate commercial reporting and ensuring contractual compliance.
  • Assisting with procurement activities, tender evaluations and contract administration.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to junior members of the commercial team where appropriate.
About You

We're keen to hear from commercially driven Quantity Surveyors who have experience working on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects.

Ideally, you'll possess:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
  • Experience delivering infrastructure, utilities, energy or major civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with experience in cost forecasting, programme controls and financial reporting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • A proactive approach with excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • MRICS status, or aspirations to achieve chartership, would be advantageous.
