Design Manager

Fawkes & Reece are proud to be partnering with a leading Tier 1 main contractor to recruit a Design Manager for a prestigious hotel refurbishment project in Central London.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a technically challenging scheme involving extensive cut & carve structural alterations, followed by a high-specification internal fit-out.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the design process from structural modification through to completion, coordinating consultants, specialist subcontractors and the project delivery team to ensure programme, quality and commercial objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design process throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate architects, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
• Ensure design information is issued in line with programme requirements.
• Review technical submissions and maintain compliance with project specifications and Building Regulations.
• Identify, manage and mitigate design risks throughout both the cut & carve and fit-out phases.
• Provide technical support to the delivery team and resolve on-site design issues.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Design Manager with a Tier 1 or leading main contractor.
• Proven delivery of refurbishment, cut & carve or complex structural alteration projects.
• Experience with in hotel, commercial, mixed-use or high-end residential sectors is advantageous.
• Strong technical understanding, coordination skills and stakeholder management experience.
• Ability to manage multiple design packages within a fast-paced project environment.
