Key Responsibilities
- Crew Supervision:
Direct daily workloads for small teams of ground workers, plant operators, and labourers. - Safety Enforcement:
Communicate site safety rules, conduct tool-box talks, and ensure strict adherence to PPE and risk assessments. - Task Execution:
Oversee essential civil engineering works including deep drainage, earthworks, concrete pouring, and road formation. - Progress Reporting:
Update the Site Foreman or Agent on task completion timelines and personnel issues. - Resource Management:
Monitor material use, maintain construction tools, and ensure worksites are kept clear and safe.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven Experience:
Substantial history working in heavy civil engineering sectors such as highways, drainage, infrastructure, or renewable energy. - Safety Certifications:
Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card and a supervisory qualification like SSSTS (Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme). - Leadership Skills:
Ability to motivate small teams, defuse workplace conflicts, and clearly delegate tasks. - Mobility: A valid UK driver's licence and willingness to travel or lodge near remote project locations as required.
