What You'll Be Doing
As a Site Agent, you will take responsibility for managing day-to-day construction activities on a major highways project, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:

· You will manage and coordinate site operations across key elements of a major highways construction scheme.

· You will oversee subcontractors, engineers and site teams to ensure works are delivered in line with the construction programme.

· You will monitor progress against programme milestones, identifying risks and implementing solutions to maintain delivery.

· You will manage health, safety and environmental compliance, promoting a positive safety culture across the project.

· You will coordinate construction activities involving earthworks, drainage, highways construction, structures and associated infrastructure.

· You will work closely with the Project Manager and commercial team to monitor costs, manage resources and support commercial performance.

· You will ensure quality assurance procedures, inspections and relevant project documentation are completed to the required standards.

· You will attend progress meetings and liaise with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
What You'll Need
To be successful in this Site Agent position, you will ideally have:

· Previous experience working as a Site Agent or in a similar site management role within civil engineering.

· A strong background in highways construction, ideally gained on major infrastructure schemes.

· Experience managing subcontractors, site engineers and construction teams.

· A good understanding of NEC contracts, construction programmes and commercial processes.

· Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements within civil engineering.

· SMSTS and CSCS qualifications.

· Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

· A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent practical experience.
