Are you an experienced Sub Agent looking to develop your career on a major highways infrastructure project? Do you want to take ownership of key construction activities, work alongside an experienced project team and play an important role in delivering a high-profile highways scheme in Scotland?

My client is an established civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering major highways and infrastructure projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a technically challenging scheme while building your experience and progressing towards a Site Agent or Project Management position.

As a Sub Agent, you will support the Site Agent and Project Manager in coordinating and delivering construction activities on a major highways project in Ballinluig.

• · You will manage and coordinate daily construction activities across designated sections of the highways project.
• · You will supervise site engineers, subcontractors and construction teams to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
• · You will assist with planning and programming works, monitoring progress against project milestones.
• · You will oversee construction activities including earthworks, drainage, road construction, structures and associated infrastructure.
• · You will ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• · You will prepare and review RAMS, inspection and test plans, and other relevant site documentation.
• · You will support the Site Agent with resource planning, subcontractor management and programme delivery.
• · You will identify technical challenges and work collaboratively with the project team to implement practical solutions.
• · You will ensure health, safety and environmental standards are maintained throughout construction.
• · You will liaise with the commercial team to support cost control, reporting and subcontractor coordination.

• · Previous experience as a Sub Agent, Senior Site Engineer or in a similar role within civil engineering.
• · Experience working on highways, roads or major infrastructure projects.
• · A strong technical understanding of earthworks, drainage, highways construction and associated civil engineering activities.
• · Experience managing subcontractors and supervising site engineering teams.
• · A good understanding of construction programmes, technical drawings and quality assurance processes.
• · Knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial procedures would be advantageous.
• · SMSTS or SSSTS and a relevant CSCS card.
• · Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• · A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
