Senior Estimator - Civils
Location:
North East
Salary:
Competitive, depending on experience
Job Type: Permanent
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Estimator to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering a range of projects across the North East.
The Role- Leading the preparation of tenders for civils and infrastructure projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes and contract documentation
- Producing detailed and accurate cost estimates
- Managing subcontractor and supplier enquiries and quotations
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering options
- Preparing competitive tender submissions
- Working closely with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
- Supporting the development of tender strategies and pricing
- Assisting with contract negotiations and tender clarifications
- Leading the handover of successful tenders to the commercial and delivery teams
- Supporting and mentoring junior estimators where required
- Maintaining accurate estimating records and cost databases
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within civil engineering/groundworks
- Strong knowledge of roads, sewers, drainage, earthworks and infrastructure
- Experience independently managing multiple tenders
- Strong understanding of construction methods, costs and buildability
- Commercially astute with excellent analytical skills
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities
- Able to build effective relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Relevant civil engineering/commercial qualification or equivalent experience
Strong civils estimating experience is essential.
