Job Purpose

As a Design Team member, you will support innovation project teams to deliver impactful, consumer-focused products. You’ll join a team that fosters a strong design culture and inspires creativity.

You’ll help scope and support on projects from early opportunity identification to product launch, ensuring design excellence and alignment with brand intent.

Your role connects cross-functional teams and external partners, amplifying creative impact and contributing to brand and portfolio growth.

The Experience Design Team brings together experts in consumer technical insights, culinary innovation, and design. It’s a dedicated and ambitious creative team focused on the development of market making innovations shaping ice cream’s future. Team members are strong and passionate thinkers and doers who are constantly seeking to improve purpose in terms of brand, people, sustainability, technology & business growth.

Responsibilities
  • Work on high-growth innovation areas, contributing to the development of holistic design solutions for ice cream and snacking product innovations, including new flavours, formats, and occasions.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a cross-functional project team, supporting the design process from initial concept through to manufacturing, guided by TMICC’s best practices and design thinking methodologies.
  • Provide support to the Packaging team in the development of new 3D pack experience concept designs, ensuring alignment with the business objectives and growth strategies.
  • Lead work streams to create prototypes for demonstrations.
  • Communicate creative ideas and potential solutions clearly to other functions, with support and direction from senior designers.
  • Assist the wider R&D team in producing digital and physical assets for internal events, stakeholder showcases, and demonstrations, ensuring all work meets the required standards and timelines.
  • Work with other R&D teams such as Selling Systems & Channels to support creative development of cabinet freezers and selling systems, including 3D branding, UX/UI.
Skills, Competencies & Behaviour
  • Willing to take responsibility for assigned work streams with independence, but also collaborating as a team player when necessary.
  • Demonstrates creativity and enjoys contributing ideas and carrying them through to execution.
  • Comfortable presenting ideas and concepts to colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Keen to learn the basics of prototyping and put them into practice.
  • Shows enthusiasm for the food industry and is keen to learn about food innovation.
  • Interested in structural packaging design, materials, and the fundamentals of manufacturing.
  • Approaches challenges with an ideation mindset and a willingness to solve problems creatively.
  • Has foundational skills in Solid Works and experience with 3D printing systems.
  • Understands and can use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop at a good level, experience with Figma or similar beneficial.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and supporting team projects simultaneously.
  • Can translate consumer insights and needs into design opportunities, with support from the team.
  • Able to write and deliver presentations in English to a professional standard.
  • Understanding of sustainable and circular design principles.
