The Role

To support the implementation of the Childsmile Programme throughout Lanarkshire by driving vehicles and co‑ordinating the distribution of equipment and resources (toothbrushes, toothpaste, drinking cups, etc) to a wide range of Health Care Professionals in a variety of settings (General Dental Practices and Community dental venues).

Support the delivery of oral health care packs for home use to children between the ages of 0 – 11 years.

Support the delivery of toothbrushes, toothpaste and racks to the Supervised Tooth brushing Programmes in Nursery and Primary Schools across Lanarkshire.

Distribute resources to Public Health Nurses, Dental Health Support Workers, Oral Health Educators, Extended Duty Dental Nurses, Dental Nurses and Dentists.

Distribute Resources to Nursery Schools, Primary Schools, Health Centres, Clinics, General Dental Practices and to Hospitals.

The working pattern for this role is Monday - Friday (8.30am-4.30pm).

In This Key Role, You Will
  • Responsible for the collation of requests for resources, monitoring and co‑ordination of the toothbrushes and toothpaste stores thereby ensuring that Public Health Nurses, Dental Health Support Workers, Dental Practice Staff and Oral Health Educators, etc have sufficient packs and resources to distribute to children.
  • Ensure requests for resources are acknowledged and that organise deliveries to ensure continuity of supplies in the various locations
  • Responsible for receiving monthly stocks and thereafter making up packs prior to distribution to Public Health Nurses, Dental Nurses and Oral Health Educators
  • Deliver the packs and resources throughout Lanarkshire, record deliveries accurately and uplift audit proformas from most Health Centres and Clinics and deliver resources to a large number of General Dental Practices across Lanarkshire.
What You'll Bring
  • Confident about driving on busy roads and adverse weather conditions.
  • The ability to produce graphs and analyse data
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and power point.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to act on own initiative.
  • Flexibility & good organisational skills
  • The ability to solve problems and manage time effectively
  • A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
