THE EMPLOYER IS: CORRANNY FOREST POTTERY. This role supports the daily operations of a working ceramics studio. The participant will gain hands‑on experience in studio organisation, materials management, workshop preparation, and arts event support. Responsibilities will increase progressively as skills and confidence develop. This is a practical, hands‑on role within a small working ceramics studio. The successful participant will be working closely with the studio owner and will be expected to take pride in maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
The role involves physical activity including lifting materials, working outdoors at times, and supporting workshop and event set‑up. Training will be provided, and responsibilities will increase gradually as confidence and skills develop.
- Support daily studio maintenance including clay recycling, tool cleaning and workspace reset.
- Organise materials, monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
- Prepare materials and equipment for workshops and studio sessions.
- Assist with maintaining safe and presentable studio grounds, including pathways, steps, lawn areas and outdoor Raku firing spaces.
- Photograph finished work and assist with packing orders.
- Provide occasional support at markets, exhibitions and off‑site workshop events.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to work as part of a small team.
- Basic organisational skills.
- Comfortable working in a practical, hands‑on environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Interest in art, craft or creative industries.
- Previous experience in a practical, workshop, retail or customer‑facing environment.
- Basic IT skills (email, simple documentation, taking photographs).
- Ability to work independently once trained.
- Full driving licence.
