Job overview:
This post is for a Consultant Medical Oncologist with an interest in Breast and Research, based in Brighton as part of UHS Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The workload predominantly relates to outpatient clinical activity, with regular commitments to caring for general oncology inpatients and reviewing patients in the same-day emergency care unit, as well as participating in an out of hours oncology on‑call rota.
Additional responsibilities include clinical leadership, MDT attendance, medical student and registrar teaching, and clinical research opportunities.
Main duties of the job- Clinical trials leadership and delivery
- Clinical administration generated from patients seen and liaison with other AHPs and primary care
- Clinical Governance meetings
- Ward reviews when appropriate
- MB BS, FRCR or appropriate specialist qualification, or its recognised equivalent.
- Full and specialist registration (with a licence to practise) with the GMC or eligibility for registration within six months of interview. If trained in the UK, must also have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Oncology or be within six months of receiving it by interview date. If trained outside the UK, provide evidence that qualifications are equivalent to the UK CCT.
(Equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC) - Higher Degree
