Consultant in Obstetric and Gynaecology (Fetal Medicine) – Leeds

We are looking for an individual to fill this new obstetric post at the Leeds General Infirmary and St James University Hospital. The post includes a 1:10 obstetric on call commitment currently, which will be adjusted as the expansion of Consultant staffing within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Women’s Clinical Service Unit concludes.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, research‐active tertiary centre providing regional obstetric services, including specialist fetal medicine, maternal medicine and placenta accreta services to much of North and West Yorkshire.

• The successful applicant should hold MRCOG (or equivalent) and be on the Specialist Register or within six months of CCT at the time of interview, if currently within a training programme within the UK. All other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register.
• Applicants should have established skills in Obstetrics and be accredited as a subspecialist in fetal medicine. Excellent communication and team‐working skills, a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential. Applicants should have completed appropriate SITMs/ATSMs.
• Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share.
• If shortlisted, you will be required to give a 10‐minute presentation on: “How can we best meet the needs of our local and referral fetal medicine patients?”
