A Vacancy at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Applications are invited for the post of Salaried General Practitioner with a special interest in Urgent Care.
This is a full or part-time position which includes evening and weekend work.
Non-clinical personal development and teaching time will be included in the job plan. The role will be to utilise and build on your skills as a General Practitioner. You will be supported in developing new skills in urgent care with the aim to establish a fully function Urgent Treatment Centre in the next few months. Prior experience in Emergency Medicine during your GP training is essential.
You will assess the undifferentiated presentation of both adult and paediatric patients. You will provide clinical advice to more junior members of the medical team & ACPs and support the EM Consultants and ED triage nurses. Within ED Maintain professional responsibility for patients coming to the ED by provision of safe, timely, high quality care to patients Keep patients (and/or their carers if appropriate) informed about their condition and involve them in any decision-making about their treatment Undertake different roles within the department as required Be responsible for the keeping of records and the provision of reports, the proper delegation of tasks and maintaining skills and knowledge Provide clinical leadership and supervision of junior medical staff Participate in teaching programs within the department Maintain professional standards and comply in particular with the GMC's guidance on 'Good Medical Practice' as amended or substituted from time to time Clinical Governance Be proactive in the Clinical Governance agenda for the department.
