Consultant Respiratory Physician

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our team working to deliver consultant led, efficient, safe, and patient centred care in Respiratory and GIM. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with an interest in asthma, COPD, EBUS and/or Bronchiectasis.

Other interests that compliment those of the existing consultants would also be welcome. The trust is highly regarded for the under and post graduate education it provides and has a state-of-the-art Simulation Suite. Facilities for flexible bronchoscopy and full lung function exist at both acute sites; interventional bronchoscopies and pleural procedures are performed  have a tertiary level sleep service and home ventilation service based at Conquest Hospital and excellent thoracic surgery service support based at Guys Hospital.

Respiratory Ward cover; outpatient clinic's for routine, urgent and suspected lung cancer; advise and guidance to primary care; pleural procedures; EBUS, Bronch and other Thoracic interventional diagnostic procedures; GIM on-call cover.

Applicants should be a holder of Certificate of Completion of Training or be within six months of the award of CCT by the date of the interview or the equivalent (CESR) which is at the time of applying, on the GMC Specialist Register.

• MB BS or equivalent
• Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians Full Registration with GMC with licence to practice
• Name on Specialist Register on date of taking up appointment or to have obtained CCT within 6 months of interview date

• MD or equivalent

• Wide experience in all aspects of General (Internal) Medicine and Respiratory Medicine culminating in the award of CCT in both specialties.

• Ability to develop a subspecialty interest within the field of Respiratory Medicine, which complements those of the current team.

• Evidence of participation in leadership / management
• Solid understanding of Clinical Governance and Appraisal
