Locum Consultant in Paediatric Surgery Job Colney England UK,Doctor/Physician

This is a full time locum consultant appointment to cover unexpected absence in the department. The successful applicant would be part of a team of 6 Paediatric and Neonatal Surgeons for a duration for 3 months. This postholder will be expected to be proficient in Gastro intestinal surgery and neonatal surgery and is expected to cover the range of paediatric surgical cases during emergency rota, including urology and trauma.

We are looking for someone with experience in Neonatal and General Paediatric Surgery and who would be able to undertake the clinical activities without any additional support. We expect the candidate to be appropriately certified for the competence by national body and be on specialist register with GMC. A flexibility in undertaking routine activity is a must due to current resource availability and needs of the department.

All consultants, including the appointee, will be expected to be involved in implementing the Trust's Clinical Governance programme. This includes active participation in clinical audit, quality, clinical guidelines/pathways, professional development, appraisal and risk management.

The appointee will be a member of the Consultant Staff Committee and be expected to serve on this committee.
