Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry-PCLS

We are seeking a Locum Consultant psychiatrist to join the Primary Care Liaison Service in Swindon. The post is an established post which has become vacant due to the previous incumbent moving to another service within AWP. The post involves working as the Primary Care Liaison consultant for a single CMHT catchment are in Swindon., The post holder will provide clinical leadership in the team, help triage referrals, assess patients and make recommendations on care, provide advice to colleagues on assessment and management, liaising and working closely with the Intensive Service, Community Mental Health Team and Primary Care.

The consultant will work closely with the PCLS Manager to ensure that safe, efficient and high-quality service is delivered by the Team. The Consultant will also provide clinical supervision and management supervision for doctors reporting to them., The Locum Consultant Psychiatrist will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medical leadership within the Primary Care Liaison Service , including responsibility for patients registered with designated GP practices.

The post holder will support care pathway transitions, provide advice and guidance to primary care colleagues, supervise junior medical staff, contribute to multidisciplinary team working, teaching, clinical governance, audit, and service development. The role also includes leadership of the clinical team, participation in strategic and quality improvement initiatives, maintenance of performance standards, and provision of statutory medical responsibilities. The Consultant will work collaboratively across Primary care and secondary care services to ensure timely access to specialist care and continuity of treatment
