An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Primary School Support Assistant to join our Primary School team, working 12 hours per week, with responsibility for supervising pupils, including during school lunchtimes.

Please note that this post is a fixed term post to cover a maternity, starting from January 2026 and currently temporary until August 2026.

As a Primary School Support Assistant, you will be responsible for supervising pupils during the school lunchtimes, supporting children in the lunch hall and in the playground.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who can work Monday to Friday during term-time, to support our primary lunchtimes from 12:10 – 1:22pm, as well as an additional 6 hours each week to support at other key times. There may be some flexibility with the above days and times.

About the School

The Community School of Auchterarder is an all-through school, comprising Nursery, Primary and Secondary departments serving the community of Auchterarder and surrounding district.

We have a roll of approximately 1,100 children and young people across all three sectors.

The school is situated in a rural location, approximately 14 miles south of Perth with good road networks to the rest of Perthshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the central belt.

Our Associated Primary Schools are Aberuthven, Blackford and Dunning.
