Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic Psychology Graduate for a specialist SEN setting in Filey. This role is excellent preparation for careers in clinical psychology, SEN teaching or therapeutic support.

• A progressive SEND provision that integrates therapeutic practice into everyday learning.
• Works with pupils with autism, SEMH challenges and communication needs.
• Provides structured interventions, mentoring and reflective practice training.
• Focuses on emotional wellbeing, confidence building and personalised progression.

Support learners with emotional and behavioural needs

Implement strategies such as de‑escalation, task‑chunking and sensory regulation

Assist teachers with assessment, planning and intervention

Encourage pupils to build self‑esteem and independence

Communicate effectively with staff and parents

• Psychology degree (or closely related field)
• Empathy, resilience and strong communication
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
