We are looking to recruit an exceptional Teacher of History, for a one year temporary contract to cover maternity leave. Thank you for your interest in joining the Arts and Humanities Faculty. We are looking for a highly enthusiastic, proactive person to join our team to cover the maternity leave of the current post holder, ensuring our students continue to learn, succeed, and achieve during this period. At Durham Sixth Form Centre, our students are motivated, creative, and highly ambitious. The Arts and Humanities Faculty is focused on teaching and learning, and we pride ourselves on being skilled at trialling new and innovative teaching strategies.

The curriculum areas within our Faculty are some of the most popular in the school by way of student numbers and progression pathways. We are a hardworking, dedicated team with a vast array of experience and qualifications, contributing significantly to overall school outcomes and particularly to A level and Academic success measures. Our Faculty offers an expansive and diverse range of subjects.

This includes A level and Academic courses in Art, Craft and Design, Business Studies, English Language, English Literature, Fashion & Textiles, Film Studies, Fine Art, Graphics, History, Media Studies, Music, Photography and Theatre Studies. Furthermore, we deliver Applied General qualifications such as CTEC Business, BTEC Games Development and TV & Film, BTEC Performing Arts, and the Level 4 Art Foundation.
