About the School

We are supporting a respected independent military boarding school in Dunblane that provides education and pastoral care for children of UK Armed Forces personnel. The school is funded by the Ministry of Defence and is known for its strong sense of community, excellent pastoral provision, and rich military heritage. The school sits on 45 acres of rural countryside, offering exceptional facilities and a supportive environment for pupils aged 10-18.

The school places a significant emphasis on wellbeing, structure, and stability for pupils whose families often move due to military service.

The Role

We are seeking a compassionate, confident, and experienced School Nurse to join the pastoral and medical team. This role is essential in supporting the health and wellbeing of pupils in a boarding environment, providing clinical care, safeguarding support, and health education.

This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working with children and young people and is looking for a rewarding role within a tight-knit, values-driven community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to pupils, including assessment, treatment, and ongoing medical support.
  • Manage and monitor pupils with chronic health conditions and short-term illnesses.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and health guidelines.
  • Provide support for pupils' mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
  • Work closely with pastoral, academic, and boarding staff to ensure holistic care.
  • Liaise with parents, external healthcare providers, and emergency services when required.
  • Support health education initiatives across the school community.
  • Contribute to the 24/7 medical provision within the boarding environment (rota patterns may apply).

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) with relevant clinical experience.
  • Experience working with children or young people (school or paediatric experience desirable but not essential).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make confident clinical decisions.
  • Compassionate, calm, and supportive approach to care.
  • Willingness to work as part of a wider pastoral and boarding team.

Why Join This School?

  • A deeply warm and supportive community rooted in tradition and service.
  • Beautiful rural campus with excellent facilities.
  • Strong Ministry of Defence support, providing stability and high-quality resources.
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Armed Forces families.
