What you’ll be doingYou will engage in all aspects of learning, teaching and assessment of students while staying up-to-date with the latest developments in your field and best practice student support. Experience delivering core accounting modules such as Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Taxation and Audit—or similar subjects—is required.
Responsibilities- Plan, deliver, and assess student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met.
- Develop, update, and improve course materials.
- Use a variety of learning and teaching methods.
- Actively engage in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties.
- Stay current with developments in your field and student support practices.
- Work toward clear objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and progression.
- Hold a Master's degree in an Accounting and Finance field obtained in the UK or equivalent; full membership of PSRBs desirable;
PhD preferred. - Have previous UK HE lecturing experience delivering core accounting modules.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter.
- Have experience supervising student work and providing supportive feedback.
- Maintain accurate reporting and thorough, organised student records.
- Work well under pressure, plan and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines.
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills.
- Can work with diverse groups of people.
- Hold a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or enrol in a teaching programme during probation and complete within three years) or Fellowship of HEA/international equivalent.
- Be fully qualified from PSRBs such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW and/or IFA.
- 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays.
