Position: Training and Development Manager (Permanent)
Location: Hook a Gate

Training and Development Manager – Social Care

📍 Kings Norton (Head Office) with travel to services
💰 From £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
⏰ Full Time – 40 hours per week
🚗 Travel required across services

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Training and Development Manager to lead learning and development across our social care services.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate training professional with experience in health and social care, who enjoys developing others and ensuring teams are equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver outstanding care.

Reporting to the Human Resources Director, you will design and deliver engaging training programmes, support staff undertaking Health and Social Care qualifications and Apprenticeships, and ensure our organisation remains compliant with sector legislation and best practice.

You will play a key role in supporting colleagues from their first day through their career progression, helping to create a strong culture of learning and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Training & Development

* Design, implement and deliver a comprehensive learning and development programme across the organisation.

* Deliver engaging face-to-face training sessions including mandatory training.

* Ensure training meets statutory, regulatory and organisational requirements.

Apprenticeships & Assessing

* Support and assess learners undertaking Health and Social Care qualifications and Apprenticeships.

* Deliver 1-to-1 and group learning sessions.

* Carry out workplace observations and assessments.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

* Work with the HR Director to maintain a structured organisational training plan.

* Ensure compliance with Ofsted Education and Inspection Framework and DfE Funding Rules.

* Maintain and audit training matrices across services.

Collaboration & Reporting

* Work alongside care teams to ensure training is effectively implemented in practice.

* Liaise with Directors and external professional agencies where required.

* Maintain accurate training records and course attendance registers.

Essential Experience

* Experience working within the social care sector supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health conditions.

* Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering training, including mandatory training.

* Experience assessing learners within the workplace.

* Experience delivering First Aid, Food Safety and Health & Safety training.

* Knowledge and understanding of physical restraint techniques.

* Strong knowledge of social care legislation and Fundamental Standards.

* Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.

* Ability to engage staff at different levels of experience.

Essential Qualifications

* Lead Adult Care Worker / Leader in Adult Care Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification mapped to these standards

* Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent teaching qualification)

* Level 3 Award in Food Safety

* Level 3 Award in Health and Safety (or equivalent such as IOSH)

Desirable

* Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Award or equivalent

Working Arrangements

* 40 hours per week

* Based at Head Office in Kings Norton

* Travel required to homes and services

* Availability outside normal hours may occasionally be required for support or advice
