About the Role
Long-term Graduate Science Teaching Assistant opportunities starting September 2026
Full-time roles across secondary schools in Manchester
Support pupils within the Science department during lessons and interventions
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students
Opportunities to work as a general Teaching Assistant or support pupils with SEN
Gain valuable classroom experience working alongside experienced teachers
Excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers looking towards future teacher training or PGCE study
Potential Teacher Training Apprenticeship opportunities available from September 2026
Person Specification
UK Bachelor's degree in Science or a related subject
Strong academic background and excellent subject knowledge
Passionate about education and supporting young people
Previous tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or school-based experience desirable
Interested in pursuing teaching, teacher training, or a PGCE in the future
Confident communication and interpersonal skills
Able to commit to long-term work in schools
Essential Requirements
References covering the last 2 years
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain a new DBS
Full right to work in the UK
