These two rural schools are situated in a beautiful area of Carmarthenshire, close to the border of Pembrokeshire. They are newly federated schools, with a clear vision and a strong community ethos. As Governors we are looking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated Headteacher to lead a committed and enthusiastic team of Teachers and staff.
Key responsibilities- Build on the existing strengths of both schools and take full advantage of the newly federated status.
- Set and maintain high expectations of pupils’ progress, attainment and behaviour, while ensuring the wellbeing of staff and pupils is at the heart of all planning.
- Inspire, motivate and enthuse the whole school community, setting and working towards ambitious goals.
- Sought new opportunities for pupils, both within and outside the classroom, and develop a rich and broad offering in line with the Curriculum for Wales.
- Promote Welshness, the Welsh language, and culture, supporting the ethos of both schools and the local community.
- Demonstrate integrity, creativity, resilience, and warmth as a teacher, leader, mentor and team member.
- First Headteacher appointment must hold the NPQH; applicants on the current cohort of the Aspiring Headteachers programme may be considered.
- Level 5 communication fluency in Welsh (reasonable support provided on appointment to reach this level).
- Capacity to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
- Relevant experience leading a school or multiple schools within a federation.
