Pastoral Support Manager

We are looking to appoint a Pastoral Support Manager to lead the administration of the pastoral team at Langdon Academy.

Role Details: 36 hours per week, Term Time plus two weeks;
Point 20 – 24 (£33,180 - £35,620 actual salary).

• Lead and manage a team of staff to carry out day‑to‑day pastoral duties, including monitoring attendance, punctuality, behaviour and mentoring support.
• Triage day‑to‑day issues, ensuring Heads of Learning (HOL) and senior leaders are informed and act on their advice or decisions.
• Ensure the pastoral team produces accurate records and works with staff, students, parents and external agencies to provide first‑class pastoral support.
• Maintain accurate pastoral data in Arbor (MIS) and generate attendance, behaviour and pastoral reports for HOL and senior leaders on a daily, weekly and termly basis.
• Use pastoral data actively to inform leaders and support school improvement.

• Experience in a pastoral leadership or support role.
• Strong organisational and team‑leadership skills.
• Resilience, a "can do" attitude, quick learning capability and high emotional intelligence.
• Excellent communication skills with a range of stakeholders.
• Strict confidentiality and understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
