We are seeking a passionate and resilient Design Technology Teacher to join our dedicated team at a specialist SEMH school in Salford. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support.

You will deliver engaging, practical DT lessons that inspire creativity, develop life skills, and re‑engage students with education. The ideal candidate will be committed to building strong relationships, fostering confidence, and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons tailored to SEMH learners
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse needs and behaviours
  • Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive workshop environment
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Monitor and track student progress effectively
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external agencies
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Design Technology (e.g. woodwork, construction, product design, engineering)
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
  • Experience or a keen interest in working within an SEMH setting
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • A commitment to safeguarding and student welfare
