Contractual hours: 2 part‑time hours per week (Friday 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm), 30 weeks per annum. Contract Type:

Do you have a passion for working with young people and a genuine desire to make a difference in their lives? If so,
you are invited to join team NPT as a Youth Club Worker.
The successful candidate will be able to work with young people and colleagues to deliver a range of activities at the youth club. You will need to be highly motivated, organised and able to develop activities in a fun and safe environment that involves young people at all levels. No experience is required at this stage; the successful candidate will be required to complete a relevant youth work qualification within two years of commencing this role.
After completing the qualification, registration with the Education Workforce Council will be required.
- Deliver projects and activities in line with Citizenship, Art, Sport, Health and Welsh (including DoE and youth forums).
- Support young people to become involved in the design, delivery and evaluation of services and activities at the youth club.
- Ensure local authority policies and procedures are observed in respect to safeguarding, equal opportunities and health and safety.
- Inform the Worker in Charge of any concerns regarding grievances, complaints, incidents, accidents or safeguarding issues.
- Complete all relevant youth club paperwork in accordance with the local authorities procedures and policies.
- Attend three pre‑term meetings per year.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge in the field of Youth and Community Work through training, including the three per term training events.
- Deliver projects and/or activities which broaden horizons and promote community cohesion.
- Attend Employment Development Reviews annually and identify training and development needs.
- Working with young people between the ages of 11 – 24 in a variety of settings.
- Knowledge of the purposes and principles of the youth work curriculum statement for Wales.
- Relevant national youth work qualification required for registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) before employment commences (mandatory).
- Full funding for an L2 and L3 youth and community work qualification over 12–24 months.
- Use of shift hours toward compulsory placement hours for further health and social care qualifications (course dependent).
- Ability to combine with other employment to supplement income.
- Potential to launch a career in health and social work.
