Location: Quarrington

Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Primary School, a Voluntary Academy, is looking to appoint an experienced teacher to the role of SENCO.

You will promote and develop the SEN Policy in school ensuring that all colleagues are aware of and fulfil their statutory responsibilities to pupils with special educational needs. You will plan the long‑term enhanced provision for pupils with special educational needs and ensure its effective implementation. Promoting the well‑being of our SEN students, you will ensure high quality education for all.

Reporting to and working closely with the Headteacher, you will be an excellent practitioner with a passion for supporting children with additional needs.

The Successful Candidate Will
  • Hold or be working towards, or prepared to undertake, the National Professional Qualification (NPQ) for SENCO.
  • Be passionate and committed to providing the highest standards of provision for SEND pupils with a wide breadth of needs.
  • Be an excellent practitioner with high expectations and a commitment to raising standards.
  • Be able to demonstrate effective communication skills with all members of the school and wider community, including parents and outside agencies.
  • Be highly organised on a day‑to‑day basis with effective skills of prioritisation.
  • Have excellent classroom management skills and be proficient in planning, assessment and target setting.
  • Be dedicated to their own professional development.
  • Be willing to be involved in the corporate life of the school, supporting the informal as well as the formal curriculum.
